•Contenders are requested to create a cocktail themed around Monkey Shoulder, in which the Whisky must be included in the recipe.


•The contest will be held in Wine&Dine Festival. •All contenders are obliged to promote their Monkey Shoulderthemed cocktail in their bar during May to June, 2018.


•Only 20 places available for the preliminary. If the number of applicants exceeds 20, the judging panel will shortlist the applicants based on the perceived aromas, flavors, originality and complexity of their work according to their information submitted on the application form.


•Five best-performed participants will be advanced to Finals. The result of Preliminary will be announced on Facebook, and participants who advanced will be informed personally.


•Participants have five minutes for preparation time and ten minutes for the competition and presentation.


•Recipes shall include at least 30ml Monkey Shoulder.


•For each cocktail, participants will prepare 5 samples: 4 (in shot glasses) for the sensory jury and 1 (in full portion) for display.


•Finalists are required to create two cocktails that strictly attach to the themes:

i) Hong Kong themed Cocktail – to create a cocktail deeming to show the authentic Hong Kong spirit in limited time.

ii) Black Box Challenge – to create a cocktail by using ingredients assigned by the host ONLY, which remains unrevealed until the contest starts.


•The cocktails will be blind tasted by our expert panel of judges. Marks will be given based on the name, inspiration, appearance, aromas, flavors, originality and complexity.


•The Final will be held at ice bar of the HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair. Results will be announced immediately
